Warm congratulations to George and Amanda Streatfeild of Denhay Farms whose wonderful bacon has been granted a Royal Warrant by HRH The Prince of Charles.

We are delighted to hear Denhay have been awarded this Royal mark of recognition for their fabulous product', Lisa says.  'We love the subtle and distinctive flavour of their dry cure bacon and the outstanding, consistent quality. It is a firm favourite on our local supplier list.'

On the farm overlooking Dorset's Jurassic Coast, Denhay's passion for producing something really special has created a bacon 'tasting like bacon used to taste'. Initially making traditional farmhouse Cheddar in 1959, they added their award-winning hand-cured bacon in 1994. Since then, the bacon curing moved to a purpose built curing and slicing facility in Honiton in 2005. Made to traditional methods and dry cured by hand using sea salt, Denhay’s knowledge and skill in producing bacon has resulted in the Company winning a total of 75 food awards so far.

'We have developed many favourite recipes in our Provisio kitchen using this award-winning product' says Lisa, who has been working with Denhay cheese and bacon since her company began. 'The streaky bacon is perfect in Beef Borguignonne and game terrine whilst the back bacon makes a fabulous sandwich kept simple with overnight white bread from Winterbourne Kingston Bakery and free range egg from Clive Bevin of Honeysuckle farm eggs, Corfe Mullen."

Lisa has worked with Amanda Streatfeild on the committee of Slow Food Dorset which was founded by Amanda 6 years ago.  Lisa is currently the Deputy Leader of the Dorset Group.
